The 2025 Fête des Jeunes, a major highlight on the French fencing calendar, once again lived up to expectations. We had the pleasure of attending as exhibitors, showcasing our fencing pistes — and unveiling a major innovation that drew a lot of attention: the Rollmate, the world’s first piste roller.
A Strong Presence on the Strips
Sixty Malterre Fencing pistes were set up for this year’s event — the largest national gathering for the U15 category — supporting young fencers through every touch, every bout, every final. This large-scale deployment helped ensure optimal conditions for both performance and safety throughout the competition.
A Long-Awaited Innovation: The Rollmate
Making its debut at the event, the Rollmate turned heads right away. Simple, quick, and clever, it allows a fencing piste to be rolled up in seconds — making storage more compact, effortless, and long-lasting. It was an instant hit with club presidents, coaches, and volunteers, who immediately recognized its potential to save time and ease logistical challenges.
The word we heard the most?
“Brilliant.”
Which is exactly what we hoped for when we designed it.
Pistes That Stand Out on the Ground
Our fencing pistes continue to stand out — for their quality, design, and lightweight build. Some visitors still remember the 70 kg strips of the past. Thanks to continuous innovation, our current models weigh just 24 kg, while being more durable and visually refined than ever before. It’s a technical leap forward that hasn’t gone unnoticed.
We received lots of positive feedback and strong interest from clubs, which encourages us to keep moving forward.
A Moment That Moved Us
One of the most touching moments of the event was meeting Marion, 14, who had traveled all the way from Réunion Island. She shared a message that stayed with us:
“Your pistes allow us to practice fencing seriously and safely.”
Simple, heartfelt words that perfectly capture our mission: to provide young athletes with the best possible environment to train and compete.
Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted, tried things out, asked questions, and shared their enthusiasm. Your energy and feedback mean the world to us.
See you soon — on the piste… and around the Rollmate!
